Jean-Luc used to think the apocalypse was the worst thing that could happen…

He was wrong.

The world almost ended—twice. Both times Jean-Luc lost someone he loved.

Alone and depressed, he wants nothing more than to start over and leave this crappy GoneGod World to tick on without him.

Then Sinbad the Sailor walks into his hotel lobby.

Sinbad is a six-year-old girl.

And she's on a mission. Jean-Luc is drawn into a complex, devious plot designed to fuel hatred between humans and the mythical creatures now living among us.

Sinbad’s mission could save everyone.

At the heart of it is a power struggle between a racist politician, an ex-god turned do-gooder and activist, and an infamous arms dealer by the name of Mr. Cain (yup—that Cain).

Jean-Luc Matthias must help this childish Sinbad on her impossible mission or the world will be drawn into an endless war unlike anything seen in Heaven, Hell or on Earth.

GoneGod World is a hilariously dark urban fantasy novel with an imaginative twist. If you like gritty worlds, reimagined mythology and shadowy mysteries, then you’ll love Ramy Vance’s divinely comedic adventure.

Wow, I think that the wait for the next episode is going to absolutely kill me!!! The depth of emotional turmoil leaves one breathless in anticipation. Please, hurry with The next book, because you have left my two favorite characters in Hell!!

A god of Bugs, yuck. But Jean Luc Matthias is back and helping others because he made a promise to his wife. Urban fantasy at its best.

The story continues with the main cast. Unexpected plot twist at the end to set up the next entry into the series. I will eagerly wait for the next book.

As usual, another story about the tragic but mostly amazing forsaken "Others in a God Gone World. I look forward to reading and seeing (in my minds eye) many more books. In my opinion, this would make a better storyline for a TV series than Good Omens. Which, for me is saying a lot because I love Neil Gaiman 's twisted "creative crazy" world building.

CrystalDreams is an interesting read written by R. E. Vance. I find this book is not easy to review. It has so much potential, it is so interesting and unique and this one is by far the longest in the series, but what I struggle with often is the time jumps the author tends to do. With those he kind of tries to "trick" the reader in a way. So he will write what happens and then he will jump back whatever time he needs, a day, a few hours or weeks, to then explain where all the sudden the solution for his problem came from. Like for example there is a fight and you think all is lost, but now jump back in time, and now all the sudden he has a miracle weapon that you knew nothing about but that was set up in secret 12 hours prior. Those jumps at times make it like "oh how convenient he thought of all that" and in a way a tad over the top in my eyes. It seemed for every problem the solution was already done, you just didn't read about it yet.And the funny part is, I really like this series. It is just so difficult to read sometimes the way it is written. It also seems Jean knows just about everything and has the solution for all the problems out there, or knows how to find them and if he doesn't he will somehow stumble across it in the most opportune way. And I am one of the ones cheering for him, and you are left so often with this feeling that there is just no way that there is a way out of it!The book is somewhat a stand on its own book since the problem that is faced is solved, but it ends with quite the cliff hanger and since it involves one of my other favorite characters, well guess who will be reading the next book? Yes that would be me. So as I said I am torn on this book, I really like the series, it is so different from anything I have read, but that different does come with a price.

I read a lot. If it doesnt catch my interest by the end of the first page...I'm done. This book grabbed me and did not let go throughout the entire read! I start with her other series. Itbis as amazing as this one! I read everything that was written and I was utterly blown away by the engaging characters and original idea! Cant wait for more!!

Phenomenal book. I can see the comparison to Jim Butcher (one of my favorite authors). And I enjoyed every book in the series so far

Paradise Lot books always gives me reasons to laugh, cry, be angry at situations that effect the characters, and always eagerly anticipate the next book. The characters are very real in their own ways, have personal tragedies, and are seriously flawed which makes for an excellent read. I just wish the endings didn't have to be so diff for them.

I have read the entire series (so far) and this is the strangest, most wonderful world that has been created. The cast of characters are refreshing, the world in which they live is refreshing, and hey, when a human has Medusa as a girlfriend, a drunken, twice fallen angel as a best friend, and his poltergeist motber-in-law, what more do you need to know

Kindle Unlimited but was and seems to still be 99 for the trilogy plus the Interludes story, can't really beat that, with Interludes being 2.99 by itself, the rest 2.99 - 4.99 each, though are still 2 not included but will list them below. #1.1 seems to be permafree if you want to check that one out fully, that and the other 2 were written as episodes so may or may not contain the full Gone God World #1 which is not free but is ku}. The review for the 3 plus 1 set is elsewhere.I used to think the apocalypse was the worst thing that could happen … boy, was I wrong. “Monsters are real.” Little Sarah should know, she’s surrounded by them. But so are heroes, and with the help of Jean-Luc and company, Sarah’s hero “Sinbad” is on the way. This spellbinding story leads you on a thrilling chase to discover who the real monsters are. As always, R.E. Vance’s in-depth character exploration blows me away. You are able to really become involved and root for your favorites, flawed as they are, to persevere and win the day. This is the third book in the Paradise Lot series. It can be read as a standalone novel, but you’ll gain a lot of enjoyment and insight into the motivation of Jean-Luc and other main characters by reading these in order. I can’t wait for the next one.

Crystal Dreams is jam packed with fully developed characters (mostly, some are half baked and melt when you poke them to hard hehe) and an amazing complex plot. Jean-Luc once again unwittingly steps in to save the day becoming the hero that really just wants to be someone and somewhere else. Luckily he has friends like a fallen angel, a snarky snake and Sinbad the Pirate (to name just a few) to help him out this time. It’s a must read but if you’ve so much as dipped your toe into Paradise Lot, I’m probably preaching to the choir of one clickers.

Once again Vance has written Urban Fantasy good. This was by far my most favorite installment in the series, which is saying something as I’ve loved every story so far. This novel gives us further insight into the history of the main characters and adds a whole new layer of complexity to Paradise Lot. I couldn’t put it down!!

So far the best of the Paradise Lot books. It is a wonderful story full of new, and old, plot points and characters. I loved the character of Sinbad. I loved reading some of Penemue's background. Long story short, I loved this book as much as I have enjoyed all of the other Paradise Lot books. Keep 'em coming, R.E.!!

I have been following the Paradise Lot series from the beginning . Loved it from the first story I read, but this story is, by far, the best of the whole series so far. It's action packed, funny and, at times, even profound. Well done! I received an ARC from the author and decided that it was well worth reviewing. :-D

Crystal Dreams just blew everything out of the water! It's not a linear good guy fights bad guy, good guy wins storyline. None of the installments in the series was but this one is exceptional on keeping readers engaged. Personally, parts of the story rings true in the real world...

This is the latest, and possibly the best, of the Paradise Lot books.Take a great story line, well remembered and much loved characters, throw in a handful of new nasty foes, add the magic Rami brings to his writing, mix well and you have another winner!

This time, the children go missing, and all signs point to the Others. Mix in a bombastic nationalist politician who wants to round up the Others, a new prison built especially to hold Others, and the prison's designer - Cain, son of Adam - and it looks to be a good mashup. But wait . . . it's not exactly that simple. If the Others are innocent, as Jean-Luc suspects, then whodunnit? And why has Tink been hanging out with Jean-Luc in his Castle Greyskull? And what's the REAL difference between Penemue, the fallen (ok, TWICE fallen) angel and Miral and Michael? And why does Sinbad fight like a little girl?I guess you'll have to read this excellent entry into the series to find out!
